Announcing Certified

Hello everyone,

It has been awhile, but Husky Paw Games is still alive. The next game from us here at Husky Paw Games isn’t really a game. Well, it can be, but that isn’t the real intention.

Certified Title Screen

Certified is a high-level quiz app. The quizzes mostly focus on college level topics, like CompTIA A+ and W3C Web Design certification exams. The goal here is to help people study during crunch time, while doing trying to make it somewhat fun. It also provides score tracking, so you can see how well you are doing over time, and how much you improve.

Certified Gameplay

At the moment it was submitted to certification, Certified had three practice exams to take. More will be added as time goes on, but I would love to know what I should aim to add first. If you have any ideas, feel free to drop a line or leave a comment.

Certified is drastically different than what we’ve done before, but all the hard work is done. Expect it in the Windows Phone Store within the week. Enjoy the app!

Mainframe Madness Updated

Cyber Attack: Mainframe Madness has been updated. What has been added, you ask?

Screenshot (41)Now available is the ability to edit your city themes with colors. Colors range from neon to heart themed, and are unlocked via coins, just like the towers.

This update is available right now for both Windows Phone and Windows 8. More towers and themes are on the way soon, so stay tuned.

Cyber Attack: Mainframe Madness

After the long onslaught from the invaders, morale is at an all time low. Just as the last bit of hope was hanging on by a thread, a massive breakthrough in weapons technology might actually be able to save the Cybernet.

Defend with the new tech, including blaster mini-turrets, splitters, and magnet beacons.

Unfortunately, not only you have progressed technologically. Some of the invaders started carrying flares to intercept the array or bullets coming at them.

In case it wasn’t clear, the sequel to Cyber Attack is on its way. Cyber Attack: Mainframe Madness returns you to the Cybernet. However, things are a little different now.

There are a lot more weapons in this version of the game. Before, you had three weapons and could use them all at the same time. This time around, there are now loadouts. Only two weapons can be equipped at a time, but they are on separate cooldowns finally. The weapons themselves are a bit more varied than in the first game, and some things work really well together. For example, a combination of the magnet beacon and the laser would tear through hordes of enemies with ease.

Also new to Mainframe Madness, things are a lot more customizable. Using coins, towers can be edited to your liking. Feel like supporting Husky Paw Games? Proudly wear the paw on your tower. Are you love struck? Show the world with the heart tower.

Towers are unlocked via Cyber Coins. Cyber Coins can either be earned in game, or purchased via the store.

Cyber Attack: Mainframe Madness will be landing on the Windows Phone store next week, as well as the Windows Store today.

The End of Balloon Tap

Balloon Tap has had a nice run, but it has been removed from the Windows Phone Store.

While working on porting Balloon Tap to Windows 8, it became obvious that Balloon Tap isn’t the kind of quality that Husky Paw Games should be known for. It would take a lot of work to get it to an acceptable level.

It made me realize that, while it was great when I was new to the game, it isn’t up to par anymore.

Maybe Balloon Tap will come back some day, much improved, but right now, no plans are made to bring it back. In the meantime, keep an eye out for announcements related to our next game, Blob Lab.

Cyber Attack on Windows Phone Update

Don’t worry, Cyber Attack on Windows Phone isn’t being left behind. An update is now live on the Windows Phone Store.

What is in this update, you ask? Well, for one thing, the stats that are present on the Windows 8 version are now available here on Windows Phone. Beat your own best scores, while racking up your shots fired and accuracy.

Another little bonus is the new menu system. The menus are very similar to the Windows 8 menu system.

Hope you enjoy it!

The Adventure Doesn’t End

For all the fans of the Windows Phone version of Cloud Blaster, I have some good news! Both the paid and ad supported versions have been updated with the new cloud particle system.

The particle system, surprisingly, works great. I managed to improve the performance on it from the Windows 8 version by about thirty percent. It was a rather simple process, there are less particles drawn, but they are slightly larger so the effect looks the same, if not slightly better.

As you can also see, the energy is more representative of how many shots you have left. I feel this was a better way to display it rather than the bar where you had to guess how many shots were remaining.

The even better news is that this update is available, right now, on both Windows Phone and Windows 8. Oh, and the Windows 8 version now supports the Xbox 360 controller, so have fun with that.

Happy Blasting

Up and Down with Cloud Blaster

So, uh, Cloud Blaster was free on Windows for a while there. It was intentional, but it wasn’t able to last. Unfortunately, there is an issue with the keyboard input and the ad manager that cause some issues. When the ad would update, it would cause the input to lock until the app was suspended and reloaded. This would cause players to run off the edge, or not be able to move at all.

It isn’t all bad though, Cloud Blaster at least has a trial now. The first three campaign and three arena levels are available in the trial. Unlocking the full version grants you access to the rest of the levels, as well as all the cosmetic items. By three levels, you should know if you want what I am offering or not. If not, hey at least you tried it.

More content is on the way still, it is just taking long than I would have liked to finish it, but that seems to be a general theme for Cloud Blaster. I’d like for them to be finished before I put them out there.
